In fact, the one that was started back last century (1950) has never ended! It’s an armistice. A truce; it is not a treaty to end a war. So we have been at war with them for 59 years. Why is Seoul located so close to the border? You have probably heard that Seoul is only 40 miles from the North Korean border. Yep, just a short missile toss from the most militarized border in the world. Why is the South’s capital so close to the border? Well, we have to look at history for that; Seoul has been the capital for around 500 years. After the Japanese Occupation and Second World War two regimes sprung up on the Korean peninsula. The Communists to the North and a Democratic regime to the South (South’s regime turned out to be another dictatorship, but that’s not for today’s discussion.) So whoever controlled the ancient capital had or at least seemed to have a more legitimate claim to be the government of Korea. So the South Koreans were kind of stuck with keeping the capital here even though the Americans and others suggested they move the capital.

If North Korea collapses there will be millions of refugees crossing the border into China looking for food. South Korea has huge investments in China and the Chinese are concerned that if The North and South Korea reunify, South Koreans will pull their investments out of China to invest in the North. If South Korea takes over the North, China will have an American ally right on their doorstep. David C. Redman is an actor, writer, publisher and marketer living just outside of the ancient city wall of Seoul, S. Korea and within a missile toss of the North Korean border. He was a lead actor on MBC’s hit TV show ‘Surprise’ where he appeared in over 127 episodes.

Usually, rice in the North Korea can be made of millet, rice, naked barley, yellow rice and sorghum rice. Cake is the main food for Korean to celebrate festivals and entertain guests. It is also one of the favorite main foods for local residents. There are about more than 50 types of cakes in accordance with different recipes and ingredients. The way to make glutinous rice cakes is as follows. First, steam glutinous rice; then cut a chunk of glutinous rice into pieces. Dip bean flour, bean noodles, sesame seeds or honey before eating it.

Cakes made of rice vermicelli can also be divided to many types. Puff pastry can be made as the following methods. First, mix rice flour with boiled water; then put fillings into the flour to wrap into different shapes like moon or shell; finally, put these cakes on bamboo steamers that are covered with pine needles and steam them. We can use jujubes, chestnuts, sesame and green beans to make fillings. There is another way to use rice vermicelli make cakes. Sprinkle little water on the rice flour or sticky rice flour; then mix them evenly. Later, put the mixed flour into bamboo steamers and steam them.

Battercakes can also be divided to many types according to their ingredients and recipes. Cold noodles in the North Korea have the distinctive style, too. People in the North Korea have the habit of eating cold noodles on the fourth day of the first month. They think that eating the long cold noodles on this day can help them live to be a hundred. Thus, the cold noodles are also called long-life noodles. There are wheat noodles, buckwheat noodles, starch noodles, corn noodles and so on in the North Korea. In the southern part which is fertile in wheat, people usually eat wheat noodles. However, the favorite noodles for people are buckwheat noodles. Cold noodles in Pyongyang are made of buckwheat, which taste sweet and sour.

North Korea is found in north Asia and shares a border with the People’s Republic of China and Republic of Korea. The two Koreas have ended inside of a cease fire during the Korean War within the 50s, therefore technically leaving both countries in the state of war. Even though the armed conflict has been a point of the past, tension inside the two Koreas periodically rise because of border incidents. The two countries have spent considerable efforts in reconciliation and unification inside the past decade. This area however, is less developed than South Korea.

Western visits to This area have recently been allowed and state sponsored tourism has begun. Despite the internal propaganda of North Korea against western nations inside past number of decades the opening of That country to tourism is an evident change in their policy. Tourist visits to That country are special inside of a sense that all visitors need to be followed by a Local peoplen guide constantly. There is markedly little or no interaction with locals in any from the destinations. Despite these oddities North Korea have been a favorite place to go for Chinese and Russian vacationers. Local peoplen vacations are specially well-known inside the Russian market due to the warm temperature in North Korea.

Though the economical disparity inside the two Koreas is extensive, the differences in organic beauty are virtually the similar if not skewed in favor of North Korea. North Korea has maintained nearly all of the historical web sites located in their state. This area is in addition property to exciting mountain vistas as with Mount Kumgang. Particular locations close to the South Korean border like Kaesong have been opened for tourism. Kaseong has even been opened to South Koreans to go to and has become a popular destination. The strongest point of Korean surroundings are that nearly all of its areas have remained untouched given that the Korean War, this has allowed a lot of spots to recuperate and look after their pure beauty undisturbed by industrial or urban expansion.

When looking at the news articles coming out of North Korea it is clear that they are concerned with keeping the hopes of independent reunification alive. The tops news stories are entitled, “New Era of Reunification and Prosperity Will Come in 2008″ and “More Mass Rallies Held.” The first article explains that reunification is only possible is both sides are willing to join, this obvious statement does not include the fact that the many people in North Korea have wanted to be reunited to South Korea for a long time and it is the strict and corrupt government of the North that has been making this reunification impossible. One other story spoke out against the Japanese decision to shorten the chain of command for activating their anti missile network. The North Koreans have taken this as a threat and viewed it as Japan flexing their missile muscles.

Compared to news in the United States the articles seem very short and somewhat low on factual information. Furthermore the articles are repetitive when it comes to the issue of independent reunification. One other difference that the Korean news has from American News is that the Korean articles call on the people of the nation to continue struggling for peace, in America it seems there is no need, most of the time, to call on the people of our nation to struggle or for any other reason.

There are political slants in the North Korean news particularly in the article involving Japans decision to streamline their anti missile command chain. Until recently the Japanese defense minister had to get approval from the Japanese Prime Minister before they the Defense Minister could enact the anti missile defense, but now the Defense Minister can activate the anti missile defense by himself. This enables Japan to react faster to a missile attack against their nation. North Korea has taken Japans increased faster possible response as Japan getting ready for a preemptive strike. North Korea has taken a simple change in the line of command and twisted it into an excuse to accuse Japan of preparing for an attack.

This really is a frontier town that lies about the Ryanggang province of North Korea. Hyesan is a transportation and commercial hub, not to mention the administrative hub of Ryanggang Province. One can arrive at Hyesan from other North Korean cities by railway. The town is home to a number of paper, lumber and textile mills, even though business in current years have gone down, resulting to a loss of livelihood for most in the area’s inhabitants. The town used to become a single from the main hubs of copper production of North Korea. It is also house to a quantity of schools, amongst them the Hyesan Large College and also the Hyesan Girl’s School. Universities that make their home in Hyesan as well as fascinating places to visit include the Hyesan Medical School along with the Hyesan University of Agriculture and Forestry. Other points of interest include things like the Kwaegung Pavilion, Naegok Hot Spring and Mount Baekdu.

This really is the highest mountain about the Chiangbbai mountain assortment and is popular amongst South Korean site visitors who like to climb the mountain from the Chinese part. You can find also several foreign vacationers who like to brave North Korea and climb the mountain so that you can see the spectacular sight from above via the North Korean part.

Bravo to the North Koreans. All the countries oppressed by the western world should congratulate the president and the entire people of North Korea for their wonderful effort on the long range missiles test. Should you praise a country that cannot feed its population .In the modern world Bomb appears to be more important than bread. The Life that needs food need to be protected first. Let every nation give up its Arsenal and the world will be at peace, anything short of that, the whole world is heading for a disaster

It’s a cruel world, full of deception and hypocrisy. It was obvious in the last G20 summit. America and the Russia agreed to reduce their nuclear war heads as if that is enough to balance the power in the world. Let every nation possess it or no nation has it at all. Why? This is because the decision on the world resources depend on how powerful a nation is.. The west takes the chunk while others scramble on the crumbs. According to Kenneth Clark, the former home office Minster in the United kingdom, the west are only familiar with spending and spending more than what they own, while the rest of the world live within their means and save for the future. This is happening in the same planet. And the reason for this is that some countries hold on to the entire world resources simply because they are more powerful.

Apart from the poor sharing of the world resources there is too much abuse of power going on. Some problems are better resolved diplomatically rather than militarily. America will never attack Iraq if Iraq has a long range missile. Look at India and Pakistan for instance. They look like enemies but war seems not be in their agenda for now because they both posses what it takes to ground each others nation.. It boils down to the same notion, let all the world missiles be got rid off or let every nation posses it. Going by the timing of the launching of the North Korea missiles, the message is clear, while you sit-down at a summit sharing the world resources, some countries are angry and will go ballistic one day when pushed to the wall.

The United Nations has put forth a resolution to prevent North Korea from firing long-range missiles and developing nuclear warheads and selling them to other nations. Now that North Korea has become a nuclear power and tested its first underground nuclear weapon one has to ask will such task on to nuclear fallout to occur. Remember of course that North Korea borders both China and South Korea. Currently, it is estimated by intelligence officials and the US Pentagon that North Korea has enough plutonium to make 5 Nuclear Bombs.

North Korea says this is only a defensive mechanism to prevent a US invasion of their country. They also claimed that they did these tests very scientifically and underground so that no radiation would escape and there would be no fallout to their neighbors. Even though China and Japan’s leaders had met and to both warned North Korea not to do these tests; North Korea did it anyway.

It looks as if six party talks have not worked and the United Nations has failed again. North Korean leaders have also met with Iran and are interested in exporting such weapons. This causes a huge problem in the world, as we all know that Iran has already promised to; Blow Israel off the Map. The proliferation of nuclear weapons in that region cannot be a good thing for the world and having a rogue nation like North Korea willing to sell these nuclear weapons to other nation states or even international terrorist is a very frightening thought. Perhaps we might consider all this in 2006.

With the political battle going on in Iran and the national anthem named “Death to America” to the sick and twisted mind of Kim Jong-Il in North Korea using Hawaii as target practice for nuclear weapons, it is hard to determine on thing. Who is the biggest threat? There are many issues surrounding these claims that the countries would pose a threat to America and the world. The different views of the citizens of these countries view Americans and other people as loving people and don’t want to bring harm to anyone.

In Iran there is, as stated earlier, a national anthem called “Death to America”. Many would view this as an empty threat and that it is just a time old tradition that the Iranian people sing to support their country. Others view this as a threat that they will attack America when they can. It is difficult to decide to what is the meaning of national anthem when parliament allowed for it to be sung time and time again.

In North Korea, there have been many threats of leader Kim Jong-Il to America and other countries saying statements like, “If any country including America interfere with the missile launch then they will pay.” This automatically will give anyone the impression that this is a world threat from North Korea. Others view this as a childhood spat and ignore the threat to be all in “good fun”. Sarcasm is the scapegoat that many reporters view it as.

With the many issues surrounding these two countries, time will tell who the biggest threat is. Many people in the world are preparing for anything to happen and there have been many reports to what the two countries are doing to fuel the fire of the assumptions. In the world there are many conflicts. Recognizing and acknowledging the strife will allow you to see what is coming in the future.

North Korea is doing it’s wacky thing with the launch of a rocket they claim will send a communications satellite into space. The United States and some of it’s allies say this is a long-range ballistic missile test that violates U.N. policies. North Koreas likely cover up and unpredictable behavior has stirred the United Nations. With North Koreas nuclear power it is troubling to nations within reach of North Korea’s missile launch. Japan is preparing ground forces with land-to-air missiles and interceptors they way will be used to shoot down any debris from the missile that may fall over the country. Patriot missiles have been deployed of the northern part of Japan.

North Korea made warnings to Japan stating that an attempt to intercept the missile will be viewed as an act of war. They also stated that they will use all military force necessary to stop any interceptors from destroying the missile. Japan state that it does not intend to shoot the missile down but rather to defend it’s territory. This is confirmed in the fact that the missile has the range to carry a nuclear warhead to Japan and North Korea has several nuclear warheads.

The idea that a missile with the capability of carrying a nuclear warhead is being launched by a communist country is troubling for all democratic countries. North Korea has a past of troubling activity and is currently still giving any disruptments to their extreme behavior an extreme reaction. There is talk that the North has the ability to make a smaller version of nuclear warheads that could be attached to Rodong missiles giving the missiles a much broader range. This information is unconfirmed but troubling at that.

North Korea has claimed that the US has had over 100 flights over the missile area and their territory. Now the North is threatening to shoot down any spy planes that enter their airspace to monitor the rocket launch. This was in reaction to this increase in spy flights by the US. The North still is planning the missile test between April 4 through the 8th in which the United States says they can do nothing to stop it unless for some reason it looks like it is headed for Hawaii or somewhere threatening. North Korea has already moved the missile onto a launch pad and is preparing for it’s launch.
